"As Fall Approaches"

A Wonderful Poem Written by Carol Brown

As Fall Approaches

The water laps the rocky shore,

The leaves shaking and nodding

In a breeze that is cool and constant,

Their colour forever changing.

The water laps the rocky shore,

The hawk slowly circling,

The small birds call has disappeared.

The hawk continues circling.

The water laps the rocky shore,

The breeze forever blowing,

Reminding us that fall is here,

With leaves so gently falling.

The water laps the rocky shore,

The loon, it still is calling

The haunting sound that tells us all,

Our lake’s alive… it’s living.

The water crashes against rocky shore,

Telling us is it is time to go.

To leave this place of quiet beauty,

As it readies for the snow.

We are but stewards of this land,

This place of peace and calming.

This forested land with its lake so blue

A place forever calling.
